Air Tightness Testing is a procedure used to measure the level of leaks and unwanted drafts within a building fabric. Too much air leakage leads to heat loss, resulting in higher CO2 emissions and higher energy bills for the occupants. Our fan pressure (blower door) tests are carried out to ATTMA and Building Regulations Part F standards, giving you a compliant result and a clear report for building control.

The new Pulse system can test the air leakage rate without the need for a blower door fan and measures at a standard atmospheric pressure, giving a quieter, faster alternative to traditional testing. It’s particularly well suited to occupied buildings and smaller dwellings, and results are fully compliant with ATTMA TSL2 guidance.

SAP Calculations are used to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations Part F (Northern Ireland) and to provide energy ratings for dwellings. Our assessors are fully accredited with Elmhurst Energy Systems and work directly from your architect’s drawings, so calculations can be produced early in the design process to flag any compliance issues before construction begins.

An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) provides home owners, tenants and buyers with information on the energy efficiency of their property. EPCs are a legal requirement when a property is built, sold or rented, covering both domestic and commercial buildings across Northern Ireland.

CPL Services can carry out a spillage test to OFTEC guidelines on an appliance fitted in the same room as an extractor fan to establish if the fan can cause a spillage of combustion products from the appliance into the room. This is a key safety check for any property with an open-flued heating appliance and mechanical extraction, helping prevent dangerous flue gas spillage into occupied spaces.

In addition to our site testing, we can provide acoustic consultancy at design stage to assess if the partition can achieve the values required under the building regulations to ensure the most cost effective method. Our sound insulation testing covers both airborne and impact sound between dwellings, giving developers and contractors the evidence they need for building control sign-off.
